I promise I didn\’t forget about this!!! But, I did have a bit of trouble finding time to sit down and find problems.
Elementary Problem of the Week
How far away is the nearest star other than the sun, using units and comparisons you are familiar with?
Secondary Problem of the Week
You and your best friend are classmates and are hoping to get to sit together. There are twenty students in the class. Seats are assigned randomly and are arranged in a circle.
What is the probability that you sit next to your best friend?
How does that probability change if there are more or fewer students in the class?
How does that probability change if three, or more, friends are hoping to sit together?
