Factoring: Greatest Common Factor

Hello mathematicians, puzzlers, and other curious people!
Keeping in mind that “factor” as a verb means “rewrite as a multiplication problem,” if you’re told to factor 15, you would naturally write 3*5 as your answer. (If you found a different answer, on the other hand, I welcome your comments.)
But, what if you were asked to factor a formula like 6x^2 + 12x + 3 ? Here’s one way we might start.
As I mentioned, it might be the case that this current answer is not “fully factored,” meaning that it could possibly be factored further. We will investigate this process in a later video.
