A Failed Hypothesis

— by

Hello mathematicians, puzzlers, and other curious people!

I\’m making a few more videos today, and just as a side note, I haven\’t messed with my camera\’s settings or office lighting that much. What I have done is hypothesized and tested that hypothesis, unsuccessfully.

Going to the pool is good for my back, so even though I\’m still #TeamLazyCat, rather than staying home I mask up on the way there and give everyone lots of personal space. Yesterday I couldn\’t find my sunblock, but the sky looked cloudy and dim, so I hypothesized that maybe I didn\’t need it.

I was wrong.

In science it\’s OK to be wrong as long as you\’re honest about it, but currently the consequences of being wrong about this hypothesis are unpleasant enough that I suggest you learn from my mistake instead of make your own: this dust cloud is NOT thick enough. Like the song says, wear sunscreen.

Calc You Later!
