Hello mathematicians, puzzlers, and other curious people!
Rubber duck debugging is a troubleshooting method from computer programming, but it works for any other technical subject you’re having trouble with too, such as if you\’re stuck on a math problem. In basic terms, you explain your problem to a rubber duck, and by doing so you think through the problem more clearly to help yourself see the answer.
It doesn’t have to be a rubber duck — teddy bears and the like work just as well — but rubber ducks were a popular early option and so they got into the name of the method.
This Thursday, for the first time, I\’ll do a live stream — from start to finish, if the yarn cooperates — of crocheting a duck, with details down to when to wrap the yarn around the hook and when to pull it through, so we can all follow along together and make some ducks to help us solve problems. Join the class (it\’ll be free until after the live stream) to get the supply list and pattern link ahead of time and make sure you don\’t miss anything.
Quack You Later!
